Karpal Singh said "a rose would smell as sweet by any other name"

After all, a rose would smell as sweet by any other name," Karpal said after attending Baisakhi prayers at a gurudwara Monday

KS was refering to the following report;
Perak state's Mentri Besar (chief executive) Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, had referred to Sikhs as Bengalis "in ignorance". Khalsa Dharmic Jatha Gurdwara vice-president Baljit Singh said: "That very utterance has made the Sikhs a laughing stock of other communities. How can we expect society to know the difference between the two communities when the leaders themselves cannot?"

This newly elected PAS Malay leader speaks Mandarin & Tamil and was noted by bloggers for being 'in touch' with the lay person. I think many non Malays have also made the same mistake? Guess we thought Bengali/Punjabi/Ceylon are Indians; a Freudian slip. Its appear trivial but glad we are talking about it.
